Faux Antique Scale + Free Printable

I love all the antique scales I see in farmhouse decor, but I will likely never run into one in my own thrifting. I decided to put my scrap wood to good use and build a faux version.

I got to play with my new router on the base.

Then I just starting cutting pieces here and there to make what my husband called "a small bat house."

The side pieces I shaved a little, so the clock face would tilt back to rest on them.

I used a small piece of pvc pipe to connect the top piece to the main part.
Everything was spray painted
and glued together

I created this scale face which you can download here.

I even used an old clock hand as a pointer

I think it looks kind of cute!

  1. It looks great! You are so creative!

  2. Great job Emily! You must have a really nice router.

  3. Thanks so much for sharing! Love it! I am going to try making one, because like you, I'll never find one to buy. I never seem to be at the right place at the right down. And thanks for sharing the face pdf. I am so not artistic.

  4. Such a fun and clever idea! My kind of project! Thanks for sharing with us at Talk of the Town.
